Introduction
The IBM Integration Designer Version
8.5.7 test environment includes the IBM Process Server. You can use this test
environment to monitor BPEL processes. This article provides detailed instructions
for installing IBM Integration Designer and optional features. The product
launchpad provides you with a single location to perform an installation for
IBM Integration Designer. We will install Integration designer along with
Process Server runtime. Process Server will be used for deploying applications
which are developed using integration designer and process designer.
Overview
Prerequirests:
Ø Before starting installation of IBM Integration designer we
should have licensed installation files.
Ø It is advised not to install under C:\Program Files. So the
best practice is to install under C:\IBM\...
Ø Always unzip all the parts of the IBM Integration Designer
Installation zip files into a single directory.
Installation Steps:
Step 1: Extract all the
files from the compressed downloaded files onto your local file system Extract
all files to the same location, and overwrite directories if prompted.
Step 2: Run launchpad64.exe from
the root directory of the extracted files. Right-click launchpad64.exe and select Run as
administrator.
Step 3: Select the typical installation
environment that you want to install. Here select IBM Business Process Manager Advanced - Process Server.
Step 4: Specify the location
for the installation. The default installation path is: C:\IBM\IID\v8.5
Step 5: Select the features within IBM
Integration Designer that you would like to install and Click Next to continue.
Step 6: Specify information
about the server environment. Specify information for the Process
Server test environment:
Ø Host name: This field shows the name of your computer.
Ø Location: Click Browse to change the installation location.
The Process Server test environment will be installed into the
specified directory.
Ø The default installation path is: C:\IBM\IID\PS\v8.5
Ø Enter the Cell administrative and deployment environment
administrative account user name and password. We should use different user
name for both accounts.
Step 7: Specify the user
name and password for the DB2 database connectivity. Click Next to
continue.
Step 8: On
the "Installation summary" page, verify the installation
options and read the license agreements. If you agree to the terms of the
license agreements, select I have
read and accepted the license agreement and notices.
If you want to change the choices
that you made on previous pages, click Back and make your changes. When you are satisfied with your
installation choices, click Install Software to install the package. On
the "Installation information" page, the following
information is displayed:
Ø The products and features that you chose to install, and
their installation locations
Ø The user credentials that you specified; to ensure that the
passwords are not shown in clear text, clear the Show passwords check
box
Ø The DB2 databases that you created before the installation
A progress indicator shows the
percentage of the installation completed.
It will take around 1 to 2 hours to
complete the Installation. We can see successful completion screen after
completion.
Step 9: Click on Yes on
above screen where it was asking for launch Integration designer which we have
installed successfully. This will open Integration designer, select the
workspace location and click Ok. In server view we can see process server added
by default.
Even we can connect with Process
center from IID by providing Process center url, username and password.
Conclusion
You have installed a fully functional
IBM Integration Designer with a Process Server test environment. You can
customize your software product by selecting the features of IBM Integration
Designer to install.
